What are Narrative Practices?
“Narrative” can be interpreted in a myriad of ways. “Narrative practices” commonly refer to the intentional use of language, story, and listening to shape and understand individual experiences, relationships, and identities. They involve techniques such as reciprocal telling/listening, reflection, close reading and free writing, where individuals explore and reframe their personal narratives to create positive change and growth.
Narrative practices can encompass various forms of storytelling (non-verbal, written, oral, and visual media) to convey meaning, express emotions, and make sense of the world.
